About

We are a small, rural church in Stokesdale, NC. Our greatest strengths are loving/nurturing people and involvement in community mission work.

Logistics

The sermons and general messaging are in line with typical Methodist teachings. We believe God is gracious.

The music at our worship service is partially contemporary, partially traditional. Typically, we sing at least one old hymn and at least one contemporary Christian worship song each Sunday. Also, we have a talented duo who sing and play music with an acoustic guitar every week.

The building is fully handicap accessible including the bathrooms. There are buttons to open the doors at the front of the building, the back, and the bathrooms.

There is a child’s nursery with a changing table connected to a playroom with toys for small children. The nursery has a speaker that’s connected to the sanctuary. Upon request, two members of our church can take a baby/child to the nursery while the parent stays in the sanctuary. We follow Safe Sanctuary protocol.

Our Beliefs

We believe in a triune God – God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. We believe God sent His son Jesus, fully divine and fully human, to die on a cross to atone for the sins of humanity, and we believe Jesus was resurrected after three days, granting that all who follow him will also have eternal life.

We believe we should follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ – so we strive to see the broken and suffering, show compassion for others, serve with humble hearts, advocate for the marginalized, examine our own sins and pride, etc.

We follow in the traditions of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, with how we interpret many of our Christian beliefs. For example, the “Wesleyan quadrilateral” method for assessing an issue takes into account four things: scripture, tradition, reason, and experience.
